If you are looking to volunteer to serve at the 2025 Sea Otter Classic, you are in the right place!
For the 17th+ year, Salinas Steinbeck Rotary Club is managing the serving of beer at the Sea Otter Classic (SOC) in partnership with the Sea Otter Classic Foundation and Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. This our Clubs major event and 100% of the proceeds go towards the Club’s international and local club projects. We thank you in advance for volunteering.
Once again we are required to use the volunteer sign-up app provided by the Sea Otter Classic Foundation.

Pro Tip: If you are coming from the Salinas area, the shuttle is the best way to get into the event.
You must RSVP by email as space is limited!
How do I sign up for the shuttle?
Only check the box on the volunteer form if you need a ride. We will call you if we have any questions. Be on time. The shuttle will leave 30 minutes before the shift begins.

Our shuttle/minivan, leaves from the Toro Park 7-11 parking lot (Map. 22760 Portola Dr, Salinas, CA 93908) 30 minutes before your shift. Please be a few minutes early. There are plenty of parking spots in the strip mall.

#1 - At the top of the page, enter "rotary" in the text box next to "Have a password? See the example picture below.
#2 - When you get to the “Your Information” part of the form (see the picture example below) click the dropdown arrow to open up the pick list, than select Salinas Steinbeck Rotary Club!! If you leave this field as blank, an Admin will update this later.
#3 - ALERT: Your automated confirmation email will most likely be filtered and sent to your SPAM folder. This is an important email so please find it and move it to your inbox.

Who is Steinbeck Rotary and why volunteer?
Steinbeck Rotary Club is an active service organization and we enjoy volunteering and being personally in touch with our service projects. Proceeds earned from the Sea Otter Classic will go towards helping our community.
How do I get to the event?
We suggest you sign-up for our shuttle that leaves from the Toro Park 7-11 parking lot. Seating is limited and you MUST RSVP in advance. If your name is not on the list you will be required to drive yourself to the event. Make sure to check the box on the volunteer form that you will be needed a shuttle ride and we will call you if we have any questions. Email us at info@steinbeckrotary.org if you have any questions.
How do I get into the event?
We will give you an event rubber wrist band that will get you into the event. We will coordinate with you over email. If you are taking the shuttle, the van drivers usually have bracelets. You can always email us and if you have any questions.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone over 21 can volunteer. This is not just for Steinbeck Rotarians! Friends, locals, visiting Rotarians, relatives, co-workers are eligible to sign-up. Again, you must be at least 21 years of age at the time of signup.
Do I need to have an ABC "Responsible Beverage Service Training" certificate in order to pour beer?
You do not need an ABC card to serve as long as there is one person at the booth with a RBSC certificate. Please let us know is you have a ABC card. Click here to register and complete the course if you would like to earn your card. It will take between 2-4 hours to complete. You need to be at least 21 years of age and you must have your ID on you at all times.
Once inside the event, where do we meet up?
Everyone must meet up at the main Sierra Nevada beer garden. You will then be assigned to a booth!!
Pro Tips!
All shifts, check in with Kimber at the Main Beer Garden before going to your booth.
Bring your own hand towel!!! Beer will be spilled and your hands will get wet. Bring a towel.
Wear comfortable shoes, that you can get dirty, like hiking boots.
If you are driving yourself, give yourself at least 30 minutes to hike from the parking lots to the beer garden. No joke!
We encourage cashless forms of payment or digital transactions for passes and merchandise. Point of sale systems will be sanitized regularly.
